Ammonium Sulfate (AS 21-0-0+24S)
Chemical formula:
Ammonium sulfate (NH4)2SO4. Contains 21% nitrogen in ammonium form and 24% sulphur in sulphate form.
HS Code:
3102 21 — ammonium sulphate.
Application:
Nitrogen-sulphur fertilizer for basal application and top dressing. Particularly effective on sulphur-demanding crops: rapeseed, sunflower, brassicas, cereals, onion, garlic, rice and tea.
Acidifies the soil, which makes it a strong choice for alkaline and calcareous soils where urea and nitrate perform less well.
Also used in water treatment and as food additive E517.
Advantages:
Nitrogen and sulphur in one product, both in plant-available form.
Sulphate sulphur is absorbed immediately, with no intermediate conversion in the soil.
Ammonium nitrogen leaches more slowly than nitrate.
Low caking tendency, stable in long-term storage.
Available in granular and crystalline grades.
